Introducing the hoastnow Developer Portal

Today we're opening the hoastnow platform to developers. The new Developer Portal gives you programmatic access to availability, bookings, reviews, webhooks, and AI agent integration — everything you need to build on top of the same infrastructure that powers the hoastnow marketplace for brand activations in residential communities.

Why a public API?

Communities and brands have been asking for ways to integrate hoastnow into their own tools — websites, booking widgets, internal dashboards, and AI-powered assistants. Until now, every integration required custom work on our end. The hoastnow Developer Portal changes that. With a single API key you can query live availability, create and manage bookings, retrieve review data, and subscribe to real-time events via webhooks.

Two key types, one permission model

The API is scoped by key type to match the two sides of the hoastnow marketplace.

Community Keys

Read-only access scoped to the spaces within a single community. Use these to embed availability calendars, surface space details on your own website, or feed data into analytics tools. Community keys can never create bookings.

Brand Keys

Full booking access on behalf of a brand. Use these to build custom booking flows, automate repeat reservations, or integrate hoastnow into your event planning stack. Brand keys can never see data outside their own brand.

Keys are generated and revoked from your account dashboard. Each key carries the minimum permissions needed for its role.

What you can build today

The v1 API covers the core booking lifecycle. Here's what's available at launch.

Check availability

Query open windows for any space by date, with configurable duration filters. Results include the community's defined booking windows and a flat event fee.

Create bookings

Submit a booking request with a start time. The API validates the window, applies community rules, and returns the confirmed booking or a clear error.

Read reviews

Fetch review summaries and ratings for spaces and brands. Useful for embedding social proof on your own site.

Webhook events

Subscribe to booking.created, booking.updated, and booking.cancelled events. Your endpoint receives a signed POST within seconds of any state change.

AI agent support via MCP

Model Context Protocol

Alongside the REST API, we're shipping a native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. MCP lets AI agents — Claude, Cursor, Copilot, and any compatible client — search communities, check availability, and create bookings without screen-scraping or custom integration code.

The same API key and permission model governs MCP access, so there's nothing extra to configure. Connect to the MCP server at https://app.hoastnow.com/mcp using your existing API key.

From there, your AI assistant can answer questions like "find me a community space in Brickell available Saturday afternoon" and book it — all in a single conversation. For a full overview of hoastnow's AI integrations, see hoastnow Is Now Available on ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, and Gemini.

"The same API key and permission model governs everything — REST and MCP. One key, one integration, the full hoastnow marketplace."

Getting started

Head to the Developer Portal to generate your first API key. The API Reference documents every endpoint with request/response examples, and the Quick Start page walks through common integration patterns end to end.

If you run into anything or want to share what you're building, reach out at hello@hoastnow.com. We read everything.
